Novel concept of nano-additive design: PTFE@silica Janus nanoparticles for water lubrication

چکیده

Abstract Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has been widely used as a lubrication additive for reducing friction and wear; however, the hydrophobic nature of PTFE restricts its application in eco-friendly water-based systems. In this study, first time, we designed novel PTFE@silica Janus nanoparticles (JNs) to meet requirement additives lubricants, which have excellent dispersion stability water attributed unique amphiphilic structure. By introducing aqueous JNs with concentration 0.5 wt%, coefficient (COF) wear volume were reduced by 63.8% 94.2%, respectively, comparing those pure water. Meanwhile, suspension also exhibits better wear-resistance performances commercial silica suspensions. The tribological behaviors nano-additives could be synergetic effect two components, where provided through formed tribofilms on pairs, rigid further enhanced performance. Most importantly, structure makes it possible use an water-lubrication Our study shed light design nanomaterials requirements future industrial applications.

wuthering heights and the concept of marality/a sociological study of the novel

to discuss my point, i have collected quite a number of articles, anthologies, and books about "wuthering heights" applying various ideas and theories to this fantastic story. hence, i have come to believe that gadamer and jauss are rightful when they claim that "the individaul human mind is the center and origin of all meaning," 3 that reading literature is a reader-oriented activity, that it ...

Nano-optical concept design for light management

Efficient light management in optoelectronic devices requires nanosystems where high optical qualities coincide with suitable device integration. The requirement of chemical and electrical passivation for integrating nanostrutures in e.g. thin film solar cells points towards the use of insulating and stable dielectric material, which however has to provide high scattering and near-fields as wel...

Self-Assembly and Water-like Anomalies in Janus Nanoparticles.

We explore the pressure versus temperature phase diagram of a system of dimeric Janus nanoparticles using molecular dynamics simulations. Each nanoparticle is modeled as a dumbbell which has one monomer that interacts by a standard Lennard-Jones potential while the other monomer interacts by a core-softened potential. The systems composed by particles interacting only by core-softened potential...

Ellipsoidal Janus nanoparticles assembled at spherical oil/water interfaces.

The equilibrium behavior of ellipsoidal Janus nanoparticles adsorbed at spherical oil/water interfaces was investigated using dissipative particle dynamics simulations. Several phenomena were documented that were not observed on similar simulations for planar oil/water interfaces. The nanoparticles were found to yield isotropic, radial nematic phases, and axial nematic domains, depending on the...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
